Group-Based Services
Athletes and performing artists have a unique set of pressures. The demands placed on their physical body require tremendous conditioning and practice. Similarly, the expectations that they place upon themselves require mental and emotional conditioning. Managing the stress of an athletic competition or artistic performance is imperative to optimal execution. While most athletes do not suffer from a "mental illness," many would benefit from working with an expert to help raise their mental game to the next level.
Sport Psychology is a fast growing discipline focusing on the performance and goals of the athlete or performing artist. The goal is to enhance and/or restore the individual's ability to compete or to perform at an optimal level. Unlike coaches, Sport Psychologists are specially trained to understand the role of our cognitions in the execution of skills in high pressure situations. In addition, great care is needed to ensure optimal health and physical conditioning. At PACFlorida, athletes will receive professional support to assist them in performing at their highest level and guidance to ensure optimal mental and physical health.
