"Therapy" is a very generic term often used to describe any form of treatment that seeks to improve some area of functioning. Physical therapy, for example, focuses on improving your physical and motor skills. Psychological therapy - or Psychotherapy - is treatment that focuses on improving your emotional and behavioral functioning and can take many forms. Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) focuses on changing your emotions and behaviors by changing your thoughts. Psychoanalytic therapy seeks to change your emotions and behaviors by exploring underlying, subconscious, drives. Behavioral therapy, on the other hand, works to change behaviors by focusing on a system of rewards, punishments, and contingency models. There are many other models of psychotherapy, and at PACFlorida, our goal is to use the model that best suits the needs of each patient.
What should I expect in therapy?
Although each of our providers are on different insurance panels, we accept Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, United, Cigna, and Medicare.

The category of testing referred to as "psychological evaluations" is quite broad and generic. "Psychological evaluations" can include anything from educational testing, assessment of IQ, personality testing, or fitness for duty examinations. Neuropsychological evaluations are a type of psychological evaluation and primarily focuses on cognitive skills, including intelligence, academic achievement, cognitive processing, memory, executive functioning, and many others. The goal of neuropsychological testing is to explore the relationship between the individual's behavior and his/her actual brain function.
What is the difference between a psychological evaluation and a neuropsychological evaluation ?
You can reach our providers by calling our office. However, due to their schedules, it is often best to contact them via email within our online scheduling system. That emailing system is confidential and goes directly to your provider. Moreover, email allows the provider to respond as soon as they are available.
